Settings & Custom Rooms

Settings categories

The redesigned Settings menu separates presentation, sound, gameplay, and other options so changes are easier to understand.

Gameplay options

  • Control Hints: shows context-sensitive mouse and keyboard actions.
  • Display Shelves: hides or shows the clickable built-in shelves for the current save.
  • TV: hides or shows the clickable built-in television for the current save.

Shelf and TV visibility is per save and applies across streamer levels. Hiding them removes both the art and interaction hotspots, which prevents invisible clicks over custom room artwork.

Custom room images

Room themes can provide:

  • a 16:9 main-room background;
  • a 16:9 Stream-room background;
  • optional background music;
  • a square Workshop icon generated from the room art for publishing.

Use 1920 x 1080 source images when possible. Compose important furniture away from HUD areas and consider hiding built-in shelves or TV if the image already includes them.

Editing a room theme

Create the room in Creator Studio, then use Edit Details to change its name, author, version, description, or images. Back to Projects returns to the project dashboard without going through the game main menu.

Audio and display comfort

Lower music independently when you need to hear interaction sounds. Use the display and scaling options that keep hint text readable on your monitor. Restart after changing resolution if a platform window does not immediately reflow.
