Controls & Context Hints
Rip N Ship uses context-sensitive controls. The same mouse button can do something different depending on whether you are in the room, holding an object, revealing a card, or using a full-screen station.
The rule that prevents confusion
Read the control-hint bar after every state change. Picking something up, ripping a wrapper, revealing the final card, or entering placement mode changes the available actions.
Common controls
| Input | Common use |
|---|---|
| Left click | Select, pick up, activate, confirm, or store the focused item |
| Right click | Return from the current object or close an inspection when the hint says it is available |
| Mouse movement | Tilt an inspected card or position a movable table prop |
| Mouse wheel | Zoom an inspected card or adjust a movable prop when shown |
| Q | Enter or finish table-prop placement mode |
| Escape | Pause during gameplay; close supported overlays or return from some views |
Controls are deliberately limited while an animation or transaction is running. Wait for the current motion to finish if an input does not respond immediately.
Moving table objects
Movable objects glow only while Q placement mode is active.
- Press Q.
- Hover the object until it lifts and highlights.
- Left-click to select it.
- Move, rotate, or scale it using the displayed hints.
- Press Q again to commit the placement.
The phone, laptop, Binder, caddie, grading kits, returned grading wrappers, packs, and stacks use the same placement language when they are movable. Some fixed room fixtures, including the TV, are not table props.
Card inspection
Once a wrapper is fully ripped, wrapper-return controls no longer apply. The hints switch to the revealed card or result stack. Typical card inspection supports tilt, zoom, flip, and storing the card or stack to the collection.
Hints setting
Open Settings > Gameplay and enable control hints. If a hint appears stale, finish the current animation or click the active object again. If it remains wrong after returning to the room, save and restart, then report the exact object and action that caused it.
