Saving & Save Slots
What a save contains
Each save slot stores the career state: money, day and clock, streamer progress, collection, sealed products, CardBay activity, grading orders and returns, room placement, display layouts, and per-save gameplay options.
Creator Studio projects and installed Workshop content are managed separately from campaign progress.
Normal save methods
- Day transition: completing the normal sleep or end-day flow saves the resulting campaign state.
- Save & Exit: available from the gameplay pause menu and intended to save the active campaign before leaving it.
Save & Exit is not a Creator Studio project-save button. Creator Studio uses its own red SAVE and green SAVED project state.
Recovery protection
The save system validates a loaded campaign before replacing active progress and keeps recovery backups. If the newest write is incomplete, the game can fall back to a valid recovery copy instead of silently accepting a fresh Day 1 state.
Steam Cloud
Let Steam finish synchronization before launching on another computer. If Steam warns about a conflict, compare timestamps carefully rather than automatically choosing the newest-looking entry.
Best practices
- Wait for the save confirmation before closing the game.
- Never force-close during a day transition.
- Keep experiments in another save slot.
- Save before installing or removing a major Workshop add-on.
- If a save loads with obviously wrong money/day/card counts, exit without performing another save and report it immediately.
Reporting a save problem
Include:
- save slot number;
- expected and loaded day, money, and level;
- whether the collection or grading orders changed;
- the last action before the problem;
- whether Steam Cloud displayed a conflict;
- whether restarting recovered the slot.
Do not repeatedly save over suspicious state. Preserving the first bad load gives recovery files the best chance of helping.
